Overall, a really bad week. But it’s important to have an honest NFL Sports Betting recap each week. However, I always said that Week 1 was the hardest, so in that case I NALED IT. But I also said that I usually pick the dogs in Week 1, but I decided to go against my morals and actually pick mostly favorites. And what happened, my favorites lost, and my lone dog won. Always go with your first instinct.
Now let’s talk about some honesty.
Nailed it
The three quality back system of the Eagles didn’t really work out. What is going to happen with DeMarco Murray next week? He went from being a feature back, to watching from the sidelines. Are Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles really that much better than Murray? Or was the Dallas O-Line that much better than the Eagles O-Line?
Dan Quinn made me look like a genius in the first half of the Falcons – Eagles game. Philly got nothing on the Falcons. The Matt Ryan to Julio Jones connection is going to be a lock all season. If it wasn’t for that Odell Beckham Jr. inspired catch by linebacker Kiko Alonso in the Falcons end-zone, the game would have gotten totally out of hand.
Almost Nailed it
San Francisco doesn’t really have much of an offense. They were outscored by 18 teams this weekend, and the Niners defense did a great job of keeping the Vikings off the field.
Blew it
Week 1 was a terrible week for me, so this could be really long, but I’m forced to give the Reader’s Digest version, just based on volume of bad predictions.
Lock of the week: I thought the Colts would go into Buffalo and destroy the Bills. I BLEW IT. The Colts missed the flight to Buffalo. How did Rex Ryan pull it together? With the ground game and defense, just like he always did with the Jets. Should we be scared of the Bills? I have no idea what to think right now. Did I totally over-rate the Colts in my Week 1 predictions? I’m baffled.
The Chiefs proved they have more offense this year than I thought. Alex Smith, a great game manager of the past, has added the title of Alex Smith an offensive weapon. 3 TDs on 243 yards is a really good line for Smith, especially against what I predicted to be the strongest Defense in the NFL in the Houston Texans. But Houston did contain Jamaal Charles for the most part, so maybe I get half credit on that.
Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson were shut down. That’s all I have to say about that.
